Ian's MGB GT

The 1st stage was to remove all of the vehicle interior, exterior and mechanical components. I then mounted it on the Rotisserie to make it mobile and sent it off to Chisbon Restorations to have the whole body "soda blasted". This removed all the paint, underseal plus 40 years of general dirt and grime.

 

To prevent the bare metal surfaces from rusting again while I undertook the restoration Chisbon coated the whole vehicle with grey etch primer. Below are  selection of images showing the vehicle at various stages of dismantling, the extent of the corrosion and some pretty horrendous workmanship from previous repairs!
